Boat rentals in Milos usually depart from the main port of Adamantas which is one of the most sheltered ports in the Aegean. If you have limited time the best way to explore the beaches and caves of Milos is with a motorboat or speedboat, their fast cruising speed and smoothness in the water will leave you carried away by an exotic coastline. On the west side of the island, some great beaches you can tour include Ammoudaraki, Triades, Agathia, Kalogries and Sykia to name a few, which are rather isolated and have turquoise waters that are best accessed by boat. Here fishermen used to construct doors carved into rocks in order to drag their boats inside and protect them from the strong winds.
